13.3 If the Association requests the secondment of a teacher who is elected to the Provincial Council as chair of a local official or other local official already designated in the collective agreement, the teacher shall be seconded as provided for up to a maximum amount of FTEs from the teacher, provided that the amount of ftEs seconded by the teacher is mutually agreed by the Board. the teacher and the association and is free of charge to the council. In September 2018, a teacher will not be assigned assignments of more than 1,800 minutes per week. 10.3 A teacher employed under a fixed-term employment contract shall have such a right to sick leave equal to the number of days taught during the school year, divided by nine (9). 3.4.2 A teacher shall be entitled to only one (1) stage of experience in one (1) school year. 11.1.1 Teachers on fixed-term, probationary or temporary contracts may have access to personal maternity leave in accordance with clause 14.1.2.4 for a maximum period of one (1) year from the date of delivery or until the conclusion of their contract, whichever comes first. 2.1 Unless otherwise specified, this Agreement shall enter into force on 1 September 2012 and shall remain in full force and effect until 31 August 2016, unless negotiations have been initiated between the Parties for the renewal or revision of this Agreement or a new Collective Agreement as provided for below and not concluded by 31 August. In 2016, this Agreement will remain in full force and effect until: Notwithstanding the foregoing, a teacher who receives remuneration in accordance with sections 8, 9 and 10 for appointments that continue from year to year and who is granted leave in accordance with a deferred paid leave plan approved by Council will be granted such leave from designation, but not granted by location. 17.2 The Board shall provide the Association with a list of the teachers covered by this Agreement, including name, location, FTE, position and teaching certificate number, address and telephone numbers (with the exception of a declared silent number). It will be available in electronic form on 31 October and 28 February of each year. 11.1.5 Maternity leave begins at the discretion of the teacher at any time before and including the date of delivery. Edmonton Public Teachers Local 37 of the association manages and controls the distribution of the staff development fund. The Treasurer of Edmonton Public Teachers Local 37 submits an annual report to the Superintendent of Schools or delegated authority detailing the disbursement of funds and staff development priorities. Any teacher or group of teachers can apply to Edmonton Public Teachers Local 37. 13.4 During such secondment, the Board of Directors shall maintain the teacher`s regular salary, applicable remuneration and performance contributions required under the collective agreement and shall pay the statutory contributions on behalf of the teacher. The Association shall reimburse the Board of Directors for all payments made by the Board to or on its behalf during the secondment under this clause.
11.1.6 The teacher may terminate the maternity leave at any time during the maternity leave with four (4) weeks` written notice. Under the 2012-2016 Provincial Framework Agreement, teachers who feel that professional development has not been sufficiently timeed may contact the Principal and, if applicable, the Superintendent or his or her representative. If they are not satisfied with the decision of the Superintendent or his commissioner, the association may refer the matter to the exception committee. The Emergency Committee will make recommendations to all parties. 3.6.1.1 With the exception of the principal, a teacher covered by this collective agreement who undertakes to pay 1/400 of the total annual salary for each half-day of work at the request of the principal shall receive or may choose an equal number of days instead of paying. These days are taken at an appropriate time for the teacher, subject to the approval of the Superintendent of Schools, taking into account all circumstances and the interests of the district. 19.4 Teachers elected or appointed by the Executive to serve on Local 37 A.T.A. Committees may be granted leave with pay and benefits at the request of the Local. If such leave is granted, the Local will pay the rate of pay for a substitute teacher in accordance with clause 7.1, whether or not a substitute teacher is required. 13.3.1 Beginning in the 2017-2018 school year: The President of Local 37 shall receive an applicable salary from the Commission in accordance with the collective agreement and is subject to its provisions. Notwithstanding any other provision of this collective agreement, the resident may determine a higher salary or allowance, which shall be communicated to the Human Resources Service Centre. The local association shall reimburse the Council for all salaries, allowances and overhead expenses under this provision at the times requested by the Council. Higher salaries and allowances paid under this provision shall not be shown in red. (a) a new collective agreement is entered into or (b) a strike or lockout in accordance with Part 2, Division 13 of the Industrial Relations Code begins during local negotiations. 14.5.1 A teacher shall be granted a maximum of three (3) days of operation with salary and benefits on the occasion of the birth of his child. 9.2.10 In addition to the vocational training leave granted under the above clauses and the teaching aid, schools and decision-making units may finance the costs of short-term professional improvement measures for individual teachers. These costs may include travel and living expenses, as well as the cost of substitute teachers, so that individual teachers can attend conferences, seminars and visits to other educational countries without loss of salary.
10.1 Sick leave Sick leave with pay and benefits is granted to a teacher for the purpose of obtaining the necessary medical or dental treatment or due to a medical disability. 3.2.2 Teachers in service from 1 September 1991 and who have one (1) or two (2) years of teacher training shall receive the same standard salary as teachers with four (4) years of teacher training and two (2) years of teaching experience until they reach four (4) years of teacher training. This clause will not be removed by mutual agreement until the district and the association are satisfied that there are no teachers entitled to it under this clause. 8.3.4 A teacher who believes that teacher groups or assigned assignments are inappropriate may request a review by the Superintendent of Schools. In such a case, the Superintendent of Schools must promptly initiate an investigation and, on the basis of such an investigation, immediately determine whether the allocation is appropriate or not. The reasons for the conclusion must be communicated to the teacher immediately in writing. 4.4.3 In a school where there is no vice-principal, a teacher shall be appointed to perform administrative duties in the absence of the principal. 17.1.1 After both parties to the collective agreement have recognized the responsibility of the Board of Directors to determine the staff structure of the system. Edmonton Public Schools is committed to maintaining a staff development fund to provide teachers or teacher groups with access to funds to support the costs of professional development activities or resources related to their individual professional development plan, including but not limited to: courses, workshops or conferences, online courses and books, inter-school visits, collaboration or practical research, related bridging teacher coverage, or other professional development activities that the teacher believes address a need for professional growth.
